The confrontation between the U.S. and Iran could end by mutual consent and reconciliation. Long-term, mutually beneficial economic relations between the States could provide incomparably greater opportunities than opposition. With a help from Russia and the European Union, the U.S. have a real opportunity to come back to their major energy program of 1970-s to construct modern nuclear power plants (NPPs) in Iran. Implementation of this large-scale program will provide means for a comprehensive development of Iran’s economy and social sphere, while U.S. and EU would undoubtedly enjoy secured import of raw materials from Iran on mutually beneficial terms, which would, additionally, help them get out of the worldwide financial and economic crisis. Settlement of political and economical relations between the U.S. and Iran is also beneficial for countries of Asia, Africa, Europe and Middle East, who care about stability on the planet.
Construction of a new navigable canal between the Caspian Sea and the Persian Gulf will allow the Caspian states (Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan) and their bordering countries to become equal members of the world’s economy, which is fully in line with their interests. Joseph Stalin intended to build this canal during the Second World War, so that the Allied nations could use the canal to ship military equipment and food to USSR under the Lend-Lease program; however, the time was insufficient. This navigable canal will let Iran become a strategic partner for South Caucasian and Central Asian countries and establish promising long-term programs of geo-economical and geopolitical interest.
Russian “ruling elite” and their monopoly business partners are not satisfied with the volumes of raw materials export from Russia and CIS. They seek the resources of the Middle East and, above all, oil and gas to make sure their pipelines are loaded for extra superprofits. Surprisingly, the Russian “power elite” itself is not interested in a settlement between U.S. and Iran. Through their accomplices, the “ruling elite” build their geo-economical and geopolitical interests in the Middle East and beyond, provoking conflicts with the U.S. in those countries, which does not benefit Russia. They make a good use of special services, intelligence agencies, secret diplomacy and “tame” mass media in Russia. If the “power elite” did not give anything to their own country except for ruining its economy, what could it possibly give to Iran? A good example is the construction of an NPP in Bushehr, which has been artificially dragged on for 12 years. Today the “ruling elite” still manages to use the confrontation between U.S. and Iran in the interests of their monopoly business partners, pitting both sides.
